CLASSIC EGGNOG COCKTAIL

Eggnog Cocktail

It’s sort of like tiramisu in a cup. If you want to get fancy, you can swirl chocolate inside the glasses. Prep some glasses and freeze them, so you have them on hand for your holiday party.

RECIPE
makes 2 drinks

For the Chocolate Swirl:
2 T cocoa powder
2 T sugar
2 T water

1. Combine the cocoa powder, sugar, and water in pan and heat until it bubbles. Remove from heat and transfer to a small glass or pastry bag (You can make a bag by folding a piece of parchment into a cone).
2. Lay a glass on top of a paper towel. While the chocolate is still warm, pour the chocolate over the glass, making all sorts of zig zag motions with your hand. The quicker you move, the thinner the line of chocolate will be.
3. Clean around the outside of the glass with a damp towel, and then stick the glass in the freezer.

For the Drink:
2-3 oz brandy
1 c eggnog (Clover is my favorite brand next to homemade)
1/4 c heavy cream
1/8 tsp nutmeg
2 whole cinnamon sticks

1. When the glasses are chilled, add in the brandy, followed by the eggnog, and then “float” the heavy cream. If you let it rest for a second, you should see three layers.
2. Grate some nutmeg on top and toss in a cinnamon stick for garnish.

You can also try this cocktail hot, by warming the eggnog and topping with whipped cream.
